HAY 91. No, you HAVE to keep the torque arm connected, it keeps the pinion yoke from wanting to lift. Without it, the rear axle will wrap itself up and around like a pretzel.
You won't even make it to the end of your street without tearing out the driveshaft, for starters.

jegs makes a torque arm called the jegster that mounts to the bottom of the tunnel. there are trans crossmembers that will allow you to keep it with a th350. is your th350 a 9" tailshaft or a 6" tailshaft.

Like microkid said, the th350 is a step back.... 1st you won't have overdrive which is a fuel saver at cruising speeds especially if you have a high gear ratio. 2nd you won't need a cut driveshaft. 3rd. the 700r4 has a lower 1st gear than the th350. and lastly they can be built from mild to wild even a very very mildly build 700r4 can take whatever a mildly built 350 can throw at it.
