Default Stopping for no reason

I have had my 85 camaro v8 for 3 months. And today it died on me about five times. It would stop when I would come to light or when I pull it on drive. And it starts up rough. I am thinking of rebuilding the carb. It's an edlbrock I don't know what series. What can cause this?

A million different things. I'm not kidding. My v8 5speed is idling high(2500) and runs weird sometimes, I am almost certain that the carb has something to do with all of it. I am thinking about doing a swap to a 3-fiddy lol

If it idles rough then dies when in gear it very well can be the carb...but there are a lot of other reasons. Fuel filter, vacuum leak, TPS, choke. You'll have to start with the easiest and most obvious and go from there.
