Stalls after warming up.. Help
Whats up people new to this.. I have a 1990 z28 tpi starts hard cranks for a few then starts up seems to run alright a slight skip but then after about 5 to 7 mins after the temp goes up to first mark she wants to die.. Hard to keep running any ideas please... P.S Just bought the car..
Tryed to replace the iac no change.. Did find three bad injectors ordered 8 new venoms today will post let u all know.. The other thing I noticed today was the battery volts real low. Pulled the positive cable off car dies. So I figured needs new alt replace no change. I tested the new one by testing the lead of back of alt reading 10.62 checked at battery the same.. Not real good with wiring any ideas please. Keep in mind just bought this car only had a week.. No garage its cold out up here in vermont.. But not new to the third gens third one I have had.. is that with the engine idling that its 10.6 volts? whats the reading at 2k? (either way, it sounds bad). low voltage can also cause it not to idle if there isnt enough spark engery. and bad injectors will do that too, the iac can only allow it to raise the idle if the fuel is getting there. once the engine is somewhat up to temp, the enrichment circuit will shut off, and there wont be enough fuel to idle
Yes 10.26 is at idle.. I did replace the alternator.. Got the same thing took the new and the old had them bench test them they both checked out fine. I just got the wireing diagrame for chargeing system going to check that out tommorw its so cold out in vermont this time of the year.. Did confirm the bad injectors 4 are reading at like 2-4 ohms and the rest are at 16 or so got some high flow venoms putting them in sunday if it is above 25 out..
