Rearend to transmission traction bar?

RE: Rearend to transmission traction bar?
I believe the 700 is longer. And if you do swap to a tranny without the provision for a torque arm mount there are kits to fix that. I seen them in Jegs online catalog and would think Summit should have them as well.

The t350 is about 4 inches (don't quote me) shorter than the 700 R4. The 400 is a little longer than the 350 but still shorter than the 700. Considering the cost of having a new driveshaft made, buying a remote torque arm mount, refabbing the trans crossmember, and losing overdrive, I feel you're better off and will be happier trying to find another 700 R4.

My 89 camaro has a turbo hydromatic 350 transmission form a 76 chevy truck. The 350trans has multiple versions the truck transmission has a longer tailshaft; It's long enough to still use the stock driveshaft w/o a problem. I'm using B&M's 350 adapter kit and polyurethane bushings and trans mount, but those aren't necessary.

The adapter kit has the pieces you'll need and you'll be money.
It moves the transmount a few inches and has the stuff for the torque arm.
I'm using the B&M shifter, so I don't know ifthe stock shifter will work exactly.

OK but isn't putting in a three speed taking a step backward? Your giving up the low first gear and the overdrive not to mention the lockup converter...
I'm thinking about putting a 700R4 in my '83 Doolie. Better gas milage, killer first gear for pulling the Fuel Dragster
