http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third-g...evrolet_Camaro

The IROC that were built in 1985 & 1986 only had the automatic and only had the 305
in 1987 was the first year for the 350 in the third gen and it was avalible in a 5 speed

NO and again NO.....There were NO factory stock 5sp manual avaiable with 350 TPI in any 3rd gen car including the IROC & later Z28 same for Firebird models. They were all automatic 700R4's.......

I have no idea why age84 would say you where wrong and post a link that says you where right? You are right. In testing the T5 could not handle the torque the 350 put out and was never offered with the 350 even in the 1LE cars.
1987
The 350 TPI and 5 Speed 305 TPI combinations were finally available on the IROC-Z28 after a lot of testing although the 350 were only available in the IROC-Z and only with an automatic transmission,

My father had a brother that his ex wife step- son had a in with a women in production at GM Norwood that special ordered a 1986 5-sp 350 TPi for him. But she made him promise not to tell anyone. A true story.
