Hey guys i just bought a 86 Z28 and need a little help i was driving home and about 20 mins into the trip i had the car slowly die on me. I was doing about 70 then i tried to give it more gas and it just slowly started dying. and eventually it died and couldnt get it started up again had to call for a 40 mile tow. so any suggestions believe me the car needs some work just this 305 i dont know too much about it. well thanks guys/gals

 

Need more info, was it lack of fuel, or is the altinator bad and the car went dead when the battery was all used up? Or did it get really loud and seize up?

 

it was weird never felt anything like it just cruising at 70 and its like everything seized and slowly died i was kinda hopping it was the alternator. i have just replaced the radiator cap, and put new antifreeze in it still the same problem im going to try the thermostat but if thats not it then im clueless. battery brand new and alternator im not so sure about would that cause the car to over heat?? or just shut down? well it starts right up after you let go of the gas it just stalls out i dont get that part..... and actually yea it kinda got loud when it was really dying i gave it a little gas and then no movement just alot of like reving so idk
