New Member with a question?

Hello everyone, I just bought a 1987 Iroc-Z witha blown 305,engine has a spun cam bearing!
My question is: I was thinking either rebuild the 305 or buy a short block 350. Beings that Im new to TPI Engines if I was to swap in a complete TPI 350 or just use the short block 350 and the Top End off my 305, do I have to also change out the wiring harness and computer for a 350TPI Camaro??Or can I use thethe wiring harness and computer etc, from the 305?? thanks guys.............
ps. looking forward to being here as a proud new owner and member ofTHE THIRD GEN CAMARO FAMILY.
pss. I`ll post pics of the Iroc-Z soon!!

RE: New Member with a question?

personally i would just swape the top end over to a 350 block, at most auto shops you can get anew ecu computer that set for a 5.7 tpi, you may need to change some sensors in 87 they had 350tpi so its not hard to do. would deff recomend getting some heads for it, wouldnt put 305 heads on it.

Everything external on your TPI 305 will transfer over to the 350 short block. Except you will need 22# fuel injectors, knock senor and new Prom for the ECM. Unless you want some newer parts that is about it. You are lucky you have the complete TPI system and the wiring harness hooks up the same as on your 305. Been there and done it.

Prom=Chip in the ECM (computer) for the 350.
I also for got about the heads you will need with the short block. 67cc 1.940/1.500 would work for you.
