If you have that much power, putting money into a stock 7.5" 10 bolt is a waste. Get a bolt in 9" or 12 bolt.

I didnt think the stock rearend would hold up.What are you going to use in your car when you put the stroker in your car microkid?I am trying not to put too much money in it in case I decide to sell it.With this economy you cant get your money back no matter what you put in it.If I decide to keep it I would prefer something bullet proof, then money isnt such an issue. The car is still affordable for most people now.If I go crazy then it wont be.I found a 69 camaro with a 383 I might be interested in.The same guy has a 69 super bee with a 440/4speed for sale also.I would need to sell the 82 to buy either of those. The only thing I dont like about the camaro is it dont run on pump gas.

im going to spend the $2500 for a bolt in moser 12 bolt with an eaton posi and 33 spline axles. www.spohn.net has a very large section of parts and you can custom order anything. im going with the moser over the stange because i can use my factory rear disc brakes.

Default Can anyone I.D. this rear end?

I took the car out for a ride and the rear end broke. The bolt that holds the shaft that the spider gears ride on backed out. That let the shaft walk out and hit the pinion locking up the rear end and shattering one of the spider gears. It also bent the shaft and oblonged the hole the spider gear shaft rides in.The pictures you guys posted before dont match up with what I have. Here are some pics of what is in my car can any of you tell me what it is.There were no springs in this rear end.

If those are all the parts that came from the rear end then that is an open carrier, NON Posi rear end.

I have a buddy that owns a junk yard.He has a couple 3rd gens in there.I am going to check the rearends in both of them.I will put the better of them in this car for now.I found a 12 bolt moser for 2150 I just aint sure I want to go that way yet.Its weird the thing left posi marks on my garage floor with the open diff.I did notice the rubber where the torque arm mounts to the trans ripped and the arm is sitting up higher than it should.I will replace that also.
