Sounds like it could be done you would need to find a block that was maintained with regular oil changes and not driven hot until she froze up.

You only need to look for a vortec motor, there out there, and in good running shape. I also forgot to mention you will need a steel shim head gasket .015 and you paint it on both sides for a better seal and your at 9.5 compression. These can be gotten at any parts store (will usually need to be ordered) and you will need the valve cover gaskets, the ones that come off are mostly used up and no good. I can just burn you a real chip if you want. You will just need to buy a G1 adapter, aka a piggyback adapter. Better than any aftermarket chip. Let me know
