I replace the EGR valve and the car would only start with the MAF sensor off. Now the car won't start with it on or off.

Any ideas? I am thinking about cleaning the MAF sensor. Codes are saying MAF sensor.

There may be a MAF relay that is the problem. There is afuse for the relay. I think you can unplug the MAF and with the key on, engine off put a test light on the orange wire and see if there is power. You have code 33 or 34 or both?

 

yes, its the 33 and 34 code....

I will try the power trick....

 

Here is the thing though....why won't it start without the MAF Sensor attached? When it was starting just fine without before?

Have you checked the obvious like fuel pressure and spark? Disconnecting the MAF may have put the computer in a limp mode. The computer may be confused now. Maybe try disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds to clear it and then try to start.
