Just found out I don't need to change my computer for the 305 to 350 conversion I'm doing on my 86 Camaro TPI, but I'm wondering what type of chip I'm going to need to make everything run right. I have a hyper tech chip right now but don't know if it's compatible with my new setup. Any suggestions? Links or Brand Names would be helpful. Thank you.

 

You need to replace the MEMCAL chip inside the computer with a MEMCAL for a 350 engine.

 

more commonly known as a prom chip. you could take the chance of finding one used that might work from ebay. but if you are doing any work to the engine before the swap like headers, exhaust, cam, intake, etc. i would recommend a tune from PCMforless.com you wont have to replace the prom with a questionable one, and you will get more power out of the parts that have been added. dont forget to upgrade the injectors to at least 22lb/hr units
