How do i fix my door hinge?
So i got the replacement doors on my Camaro to replace the old rusted out ones. However, the drivers door now sags a little, and i need to slam it really hard to get it to close fully. The lower hinge looks shot but i don't exactly know how to go about replacing the pins and the bushing, or what kit to buy. Only the drivers side has a problem, the passenger door is fine.
Any help would be great, Thanks. http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/8738/sam0622m.jpg http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/8997/sam0619y.jpg http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/6416/sam0620oi.jpg http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/3518/sam0621y.jpg |
Go to Ebay Motors parts and type in something like " hinge repair kits or parts". A kit is sold with new bushings, and a machined bolt with locknut to replace the rivets also comes with new bushings and pin for the lower hinge. While you are at it also order two new rollers for the lower hinge springs. These are not cheap, like $60 but well worth the money. Later, from the owner of a 1988 Camaro called the MONEY PIT

I am not a fan of e bay(scammers) I use classic Industies for all my parts. I remember seeing door hinge sets in the electronic online catalog.
