hello, so i would like to start by saying this is my first car, first camaro. it came with a 350 out of a truck from 84. apparently its been rebuilt .060 over and it has the rochester carb with an edelbrock intake and headers. thats all i know about it so far. i would like to add some performance to it, and i found a set of vortec heads that are bare but brand new and never used. would they be worth the 225 he is asking for them? (canadian dollars) i know they also require a new intake but i wouldnt be doing anything fast, id buy the heads now wait a bit till i can afford intake then valve train so on and so forth. id expect everything to be together and ready to put on by mid to end of summer. im not new to working on cars/motorized vehicles i feel confident i can complete anything i need to do, itll just be my first performance add on. wondering what peoples input is on this, before it goes on id like a cam as well, can you install a cam without pulling the motor?

id say no to the vortec heads. the gains are minimal for the amout of work needed. there is a member here who recently did it, and it was all the little things that come up that really drive the price up. for the cost, its better off getting a set of aluminum heads
