Failed my Emissions. PLZ HLP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are my readings.
HC:496 Limit:220
CO:3.16 Limit:1.20
CO2:8.72 Shows no limit

All the smog stuff is there. Cats are there, so what gives?? There was a vaccume line that was disconected that I reconnected. Not sure if I should disconnect that. And get some of that Garanteed Emissions pass stuff. Idle is still not consistant.

There is no such thing as mechanic in a bottle or awesome sauce. The closest is sea foam. It will clean it up but should be used properly.
I would do a good tune up, changing all the filters and fresh fuel, empty the tank and start over. The vac line should stay connected, I am sure there is a reason for it.

i agree with the last post, check ALL of your vacuum lines for leaks or cracks or breaks, replace ALL your filters, new autolite plugs and wires, cap and rotor. but before you do any of that. this may help ALOT. get down to your local GM dealer and buy a BOTTLE, not a can, of the GM top engine cleaner. use the a vacuum line going into your intake plenum and kink it a little so it sucks it up slow. as it sucks the top engine cleaner in rev it up alot, DONT GO APE **** AND BLOW YOUR ENGINE! you will see ALOT of smoke, this is good, that means its doing it's job and cleaning out your combustion chambers, keep going till the bottle is done. NOW do your plugs and wires and cap and rotor. change your filters, including fuel. then throw a bottle of techron fuel system cleaner in the tank and run two tanks of BP premium before taking it again. that SHOULD help out ALOT, if not, maybe your Check engine light is burnt out, try pulling codes.

Before you go spending money on stuff you don't need right now. pull the plug's and check them with a plug chart to see how the car is running this should give you an idea what it is doing or take it down and have it tested, it could be as easy as just being out of time and or running to rich or it could just be the O2 sensor is no good.

Code thrown was a manifold temp sensor. Changed that. Then some one said the idle air control valve. Changed that. Idled high for about 10 mins then started going down but still not stable. Wont die, just bogs down like it wants to.?????? Tune up was done just before I got it(Plugs, wires, cap, button exc..). The only thing I have not checked would be the fuel filter. I have done the sea foam already. Half in the tank and the other half down the break booster line.

Just because the cat is there, it is no indication that it is working properly. Also the O2 sensor may not be working properly. The test shows a very rich mixture which is not being corrected. Assuming the tune up was done properly, then it would appear that either the O2 sensor or the cat are not doing the job.

The o2 sensor looks to be newe and the cat back is all new as well, including the cat. I have a vaccume leak. Just go to wait for the weather to litten up so I can find out were.
