difference between Iroc and Z28?
 

I tried looking thru these forums for the answer but couldnt find it. I might have over looked it though. If I have sorry but could we get a sticky on it so it stays at the top?

anyway to my question. What is the difference? Is it just a trim package and maybe suspension too? I have googled it and got many answers including, but not limited to, "Z28 is more powerful, faster, handles better, more aerodynamic modifications" and that all Irocs come with 350's.
I know that not all of the come with 350's and I dont believe anything I have heard so far. I have an 86 Z28 and my friends keep telling me I should have got an Iroc instead bc they are quote "badass". So what is the difference?

irocs have a slightly better suspension over the z but thats about it. usually got different wheels also. But both had either a 305 or a 350. Both had either a auto or a manual.

Big differencebetween base camaro & Iroc was about $2000/3000 when bought new.

All of the above and the letters IROC for their use in the International Race Of Champions. Eventually the Z28line was dropped (88)and the Iroc stayed (85-90) until the race series went to another manufacture for the next 5 yearrun (I think it went to the Dodge Daytona, the sporty K car [:'(]). Basicly they are the same car though. Neither one could be gotten with any more a badass engine that the other.

thanks for letting me know. I was sure it wasnt much. I personally didnt like the huge Iroc label they put on the doors of the ones I saw.

I used to have an 89 Dodge Daytona Shelby. 4 cyl turbo, that car was quick but I was glad to see it go.

A friend of the body shop I worked in had an earlier Daytona Turbo nad it would scoot. But it was still a K car to me. Dodge's way OF polishing the turd. :D

wat the hell is mine its in the members forum pic named AMY 909 black beauty or summit, its a 5.0 TPI Z28 with no iroc decals but many have sed its an iroc??? its has the iroc wheels i think??????? cheerz

I couldnt find the pics you mentioned but if you dont have any Iroc labels then I doubt it is one. Does anyone say why they think so?

the iroc also came with a more powerful engine. the tpi 305 z/28 had 200hp and the tpi iroc 305 had 220hp. the 350 were like 230hp and 245hp or something. i know the 305 with 220hp only came with the iroc. i have a manual with all the engine stats from 82 to 92 camaros with every possible model or camaro, berlinetta, rs, z/28, and the i roc-z/28
