will i still get an accurate compression test with the intake manifold off? 305

The test measures the compression in the cylinder when the piston moves. You should be able to get an acurate measurement with the manifold off.

you could do it like that just for comparison wet and dry and compair cylinders if there is much varience look further at the cylinder that is out of wack. Normally you should do it with the engine warm though.
