hey guys. i just picked up another 89 z28 camaro. its A 305 5 speed. original black. i got it for free so i cant complain but i mean i dont know what to do . should i sell it or build it. i already own a 91 and a 95. around here in arizona i pick these cars up for free from yards that people have no idea what they have but anyway. is a 305 able to build adequte HP?

dont waste ur time or money, clean it up and sell it take the money an put it in ur 95z u can get more h.p easyer and 350's are way the hell better then a 305, if u come across a lt1 camaro or somthhing with a 350 or bigger then build on that, u want a project to be sweet and fun an a lil 305 aint the way to go well at least i.m.o....

 

if you wanna build something for hp chuck the 305, they can be built up, but the money youll put into it get it up there, you can build a 383 strokker for less. if your not into it for the engine swap, and the car isnt fully loaded so it would make a nice daily driver i would sell it.

 

the car is fully loaded every option available . it needs some TLC but shes a runner

 

well if your looking for a sweet daily driver i would fix her up, leave the 305 in there and get her pretty, might not be the fastest car on the street but could be one sweet drive anyways

 

i have a 91 z28 with a 305. i changed my torque converter and my rear gear ratio and the car is fun enough on the street without getting in trouble. for the money it costs to modify that or even the l98 350 versions you can buy a factory stock ls1, all the swap equipment and get a good 6-7 mpg more for much less. if your looking to make a 400+ horsepower car that's a different story but to just get around 300 horse it's not worth it. it's all about what you want. the options are out there.
