a 750cfm's too much for astock or near stock 305 plus if your going to be using this a daily driver you need to think about mpg, had an 85' iroc andput a 350 in it.that was my dd untill i hopped it up, got around 10 mpg loved the car but had to sell it when fuel hit 1.30 a gal because it was killing my very limited income at the time. If its a toy i'd def. go with a carb set up because its cheaperand alot more simple than messing with F.I.set up, better bang for the buck.however tpi and other F.I. set up's are nice, no flooding + easy cold weather starts, better mpg and if you spend some $$ make alot of power too but if your limited on cash it would take some time. so the question is, is it a toy or a dd?
ps. is it currently set up with FI or carb'd?

At least you got the optional 305 instead of the standard 3.1. You go carb you need a distributor. Stick with your TBI. Its more reliable. The poor thing on the TBI motors is the heads (for economy). Also does your state do emission inspections.
It would not hurt to go with Edelbrock TES. A TB spacer or intake and flowmaster. That stuff is fairly cheap.
You could also install an open element air cleaner but on the free side there is a ring you can remove inside the stock unit that is a restriction. 3 spot welds to grind and its out and you have more open space for air to flow.

I agree. Go with some headers and some pipes. Then the open air cleaner. i just put one on my 90. it is a little more responsive. Also just an idea. clean the motor. go get some good degreaser and just clean it. my car ran alot better after i cleaned it up all nice
