350 4 barrel carb?
I need to find an air cleaner assembly for my 350. Not knowing much about American cars, I don't know what model/make carb I am running? Perhaps a stupid question but, any of you guys know what it would most likely be?I am looking for a heads up so I can further research or possibly locate numbers or brand to identify it.
85 Camaoro with 350ci (no idea what year the engine was made) It is a 4 barrel though.
cheers,
Tim

well I do not know about in the land down under but here in the other half of the world there were no 350 in 85. Only the 305 V8. So if the engine was changed the carb may have been also. If the carb was not it most likely is a Quadrajet. You can check your aftermarket places for a drop base 4 barrel air cleaner assembly.( The drop base so it fits under the hood.) As long as your laws allow it. Posting a pic will help to confirm what carb you have.
Thank's for the relpy,
The car like me, is in America and yes, the engine was changed from the 2.8 V6 to a 350. I will take a photo of the engine tomorrow when there's light to confirm what I am running.
Thank's for the heads up on the "drop base" assembly aswell.
Oh, and by the way, I am so glad I am getting this car on the road in the US becasue back home. Well, put it this way, you guys have it easy regarding the laws on what you can and cannot drive/modify! This car would cost me at least 5 grand to put on the road back there!
I would need to replace:
Engine (cannot have an engine that pre dates the chassis)
suspension bushes
steering wheel center cap
exhaust
brake lines (need to look brand new)
wheels need to be stock diameter and width or be engineered (mine are a lot wider)
etc etc
Like I said, you guys have it easy!
Cheers,
Tim
