305 to 350 engine swap questions
I was reading a bit, and I looked at what people said in response to others regarding engine swaps for the camaros, but none seemed to match my car type, year and such.
I have a 1991 Z/28. Its got a 305 TPI pushing 206k on it...Its getting to the point where it likes to die when going in reverse, but I figure thats a tranny problem, not sure. Anywho...
I was wondering what the average cost of a 350 TPI engine would be, and was hoping to get a 5speed tranny put in, something that could stand a bit of fun here and there, not drag racing daily, but a bit of pedal play. (I take the highway to work for about 20 miles, so sometimes I jus' gotta go)...
Im not much of a do it yourselfer after my last two cars turned into scrap (Thank God they were only Mk3 Supras, haha) so I was wondering about how many hours of work it would take someone to do.
Basically, if at all possible, I was hoping to get a list of parts needed, engine, tranny, and stuff, and about how long the process would take...I just dont trust myself with big jobs like this anymore...

well it took me 2 full days. but i went from 6 to 8 and auto to stick. urs should be that hard as it already a v8 and its not that hard. just take it 1 step at a time, label all wires as taking them off. basically u will need the motor and tranny of coarse. im not sure but i think the 305 n 350 tpi share the same harness and comp. will need the a stick torque arm, clutch stuff and shifting (hydralic u will need master and slave, mechanical ...) cut some holes and i think thats bout all i can think of.
