I had a red and silver 3rd gen. Z28 (1982)

I am trying to find out what the option package was that someone had to order in order to have their z28 built with the 2 colors of (red and silver)

I figure it must be an option as there are some z's that are solid colors for the same years.

I am trying to find out so I can search for cars with it for sale.

Thats not an option. That is the way all the early cars were

How come the picture of your car which looks to be 3rd gen doesn't have it either ?

I should say the early third gens. My car is a 91. I think the silver rocker panels disappered in 89.

 

my car still has the stock paint from 84.... the majority of it is black bt i've got the silver skits and red pinstripe if thats what your talking about... all the early 3rd gens wich were black came like that... and if they are a solid color they were rpobly painted.... the 80's were like 20 years ago

my car is red with silver on the bottom, its an 86-z

idk much about it option wise, i bought it for 500 bucks, motor blowed and trans out of it.

im puttin a 350 out of an 84 corvette in it, and rebulding the tranny, but it had a 305 motor, and 700-r4 tranny from the factory

i can post a pic of the car if u need to see the paint job.

 

The Z-28 from 82 till about late 80's came with thesilver ground effects for most colors, the Iroc -Z came out in 85 and had different ground effects that were always body color. My 82 came white with silver ground effects and t-tops. I personally like the 2 tone color over the solid one color and many have painted there earlier Z's all one color since that was what they liked. The Z-28 was discontinued for a couple years and the only Z available was the Iroc. Through the demise of the Iroc-Z, the Z-28 option was renewed. I've owned my Z-28 since 1984 and it is still an ongoing obsession.
