Default 1992 camaro RS start issue's

I have a 1992 camaro RS, the person who I bought it from replaced the orginal engine was replaced and has a new rebuilt 350 edelbrock bored out to 385. I have replaced igntion, distrubitor cap, relay switch, alternator, spark plugs, the starter, and everything that has to do with the electrical system. I go to start it and it starts fine but after the engine gets warm and I turn it off and try to restart and hear it click but doesn't do anything and I can come back and try restart and it will start fine. I have no idea what could be wrong ad have had mechanics look at it and they said they fixed it and it started for a week then have been having the same issues. Anyone know what could be wrong?

mine does that, fixed it by having the chipped key and original ignition wired under the dash with a new ignition and key to start the engine, (don't know what the problem came from but it works :/ ) but you probably have a different problem though

It does sound like heat soak, especially if it has headers. My collector is just about touching my starter, so I wrapped the header, then placed the heat tape around the starter, and I have yet to have an issue.

By the way: You say you have an edelbrock 350 bored out to 385? That makes no sense. 30 over gives you about a 355, 40 over is about a 360 something, and that is about the limit on boring the cylinders. Unless it has been stroked, you do not have a 385 CI displacement. I would double check the identity of the motor before you get into trouble with it. There has been A LOT of well disguised 305's turning up lately in this forum. ID the block so you can sleep well knowing you got a good deal.
