i have an 87 camaro with a 2.8' just off idle the engine and whole car will shake badly untill your over about 1100 rpm's. i know they idle rough,but this is exessive. the engine is a 93 from what the previous owner told me, but they didn't come with a 2.8 in 93. i'm thinking maybe it is possibly a front wheel drive engine? different balancer?any help would be appreciated. Front drive engine won't bolt up to a Camaro due to different block. Give the engine a tune up. If that does not fix the problem, do a compression check, looking for a bad cylinder (bad valves, bad rings). Also look for a bad cam. Actually these engines are pretty smooth running if in good shape and in good tune.
