2.8 Aftermarket internals for turbo build?

So i am still on the fence about whether or not to put a 350 in my third gen, or to do a 2.8 swap and twin turbo. The car originally had a 305. I know the 2.8 would be more work but i really want to do something different. I wanted to put in a 1jz, but that would require a ridiculous amount of modification and money, but its still on my mind.

Anyway I can get the 2.8 motor, harness, and trans for under 300 bucks. But my main concern is if there are any aftermarket internals for the 2.8? I would need to beef it up with forged internals if i want to make a nice amount of power. I looked all over the internet and couldn't find anything. Any info would be great, thanks.

No one builds 2.8s so if you did find some the price would be insane. Price of these types of parts is always based on volume. If you really want to do it look at the 3.4 convertion then looks for 3.4 parts. Your heads are going to be a huge bottle neck. The turbo will help fill the cylinder but it will not help empty it. They 2.8 heads can not be ported enough to make any real power.

How much power can a stock 3.4 bottom end handle?

There guys that claim 300 HP dependable but from what I have read 280 HP seems to be where 50% of the motors have a short life. Anytime you use GM parts there is risk due to manufacture variation.

Also remember with a V6 build we are talking Max HP the V6s hit this with high RPMs. They still need to get to those high RPMs. A 300 HP 350 will out run a 300 HP 3.4 just because its torque is so much higher in the lower RPMs.
