Default Question about transmisson and motor.

I was wondering if my 700r4 could hook up to a 6.0l 364? My 84 Camaro only got a 305 in it which I was going to swap out with a 350 but I got a chance to get a 6.0 off my buddy for a really good price but wanted to know if it will work with my transmission first. Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks

Unfortunately, not directly. You'd need either a transmission from a newer Gen III/IV RWD vehicle or get an adapter plate to mate the two together. I wouldn't expect the 700R4 to last long though. There's also gonna be a decent amount of work involved to get that 6.0 in a 3rd gen.

Is there anything I could do to make the 700r4 to hold up? Also what would be involved in putting it in my 3rd gen? Like what will I need to buy to get it to work? Where would I get the motor mounts and everything? I'm not 100% sure if I'm keeping it fuel injected or not, I may put a carb on it instead. I don't mind work at all. Sorry for all the questions, I don't know too much about chev. I always dealt with mopars my whole life, still do actually. Got 2 73 chargers. I just decided that I wanted to make the Camaro a bit more fun. Thinking about the 408 stroker off the LQ4.

Rebuild and upgrade the internals is all about you can do. There is also the rear end you have to worry about.

Here's a thread that should give you an idea of what you're up against.
