Is it ok to use synthetic trans flluid in a 700r4

I'm gonna drop the pan on my transmission, and I was considering replacing the fluid with synthetic. Is this ok to use this in a 92 700r4? Any input would be appreciated.

I would not unless you are replacing all the fluid. Remember there is a lot in the torque converter.

No reason why you can't, synthetic fluid is 100% compatible with conventional. But if you're wanting to get the full effect of synthetic, then you would need to do a complete flush. How many miles, and does the old stuff smell burnt? If the old fluid is old, nasty and burnt smelling, don't do anything more than a drain and fill, using conventional fluid.

I've actually done a drain and flush every summer/spring for 5 times now, but I've used conventional, not synthetic. The fluid looks good.
