98 camaro with 95 rearend

i bought a 95 rear end for my 98 z28 because i have a pinion bearing that is junk. i have the swap about finished and i wanted to let anyone else know about what i have seen. i do not have the rear end in the car yet so i'm not 100 percent on it. but here is what i do know:

- my 98 camaro rear end has its speed sensors on each axle rod, i believe that they are also the traction control.

- the 95 rear end has it's speed sensor bolted to the ring gear.

- this means that i was able to swap over the axle's from my 98 with the caliper brackets that hold the sensors, but if i were swapping to the 98 from the 95, i would've had to pull the differential and swap it because of the speed sensor.

- i did have to grind on the brackets on the ends of the axle tubs to make room for the caliper brackets since the sensor bolts into them. so far so good, and i guess if you didn't care about the speedometer or traction control then you wouldn't have to swap the axle's or the diff's.

- i will re-post when the job is finished, i bought the replacement rear end for 200 bucks and sold the brakes and sway bar off of it for 100, and by the time i sell the one out of my car i will be in the good. the new rear end will be in my car until i get my next daily driver, and then i will be stepping up to a 12 bolt chevy. 7.5's just cant hang with the lsx.

and don't be scared to dig into these rear ends. this is my first time messing with them and they really aren't that complicated.
