Default Raising rear end 84 z28

Hey guys, Im looking to raise the rear end of my 84 z28 project up at least an inch or two. i have OEM springs right now and i bought 2 new 1 inch spacers but that was not enough. I've decided to just go ahead and get a new rear end setup. im going to be using this as a drag car on weekends and a daily driver to work and such. i dont care about how rough the ride is because i dont want to lose time in weight transfer at launches and i personally dont mind stiff suspension. ive been trying to research and all i have come up with is to get moog p/n 5665 coupled with Koni Red Special Series Shocks, those will raise it about 1.5 inches (give or take) but i also need gas struts as well i would guess. what would be the best setup for performance and gaining 2 inches of clearence. trying to avoid air ride suspension as well. thanks a bunch guys.

You are against using the drag bags that go inside your coil springs?

I dont know anything about them to be honest, but from the sounds of things they even go past my mechanical skill. maybe with a little bit of knowledge i can make a better judgment.

They are thick rubber bags shaped like a tube. They come with the air sucked out of them and you work them into the inside of your springs. They come with air tubes that you run and mount to the rear of your car. This has a fitting on it so you can fill them up with air. You can use a bike pump or air compressor and adjust to your liking.

and that adjusts the height of the ride? are struts still needed with that?

Correct, the more air the higher the rear end. Yes you will still need the rear shocks.

Wouldnt you want to keep the rear end down low with softer springs to promote better weight transfer when racing? Stiff springs will stop the back end of the car from crouching down on your launch.

Would rolling your fenders help enough? How much room would you have to tuck the rear tires in by getting some new rims back there? Are you running some huge tires or what?

i have american racing rims with 295 50 r15's. all i need is 2 inches 2.5 max. if i get new OEM springs that would raise it maybe half an inch due to sagging over the almost 30 year period.
