ws6 suspension from a 3rd gen should tighting you up a good bit or get some drop springs and aftermarket shocks some sway bars.Id suggets some good tires like a z rated and a higher gear rear end for autoX ik my firbird when i had it would do almost 80mph in 2nd somthing not good for quick tight corners and quick responses id run like a 3.55,3.73 or 4.11s would be good for autox.

Good tires, the lower the tread wear rating the stickier they are but it shortens the life. Make sure to also get a stiff sidewall for autox. I'd recomend buying some real nice tires and having them mounted on a set of like c5 wagon wheels (magnesium) look good and they're super light. and use them for track days. Sway bars are an excellent upgrade along with a good strut/shock combo. When you look into buying springs look into the spring rate and you will need to decide if you want a progressive spring to keep some ride comfort or if you want a linear spring which will give you more of a stiff ride and ultimately less body roll. But dont go to stiff or else when you hit a bump you're car will loose pressure on ur wheels and will want to bounce. If you do lower you're car i'd recommend an adjustable panhard bar to keep your car aligned over the axel.
After you accomplish those things then subframe connectors, strut bar, roll cage and so on. Strut bars are usually fairly inexpensive, they give you a lil better sterring response and they dress up the engine bay a lil bit, also a very easy install.

As far as performance, Boosted is absolutely right, some new gears for the rear end would be a great way to get out of the turns a hell of alot quicker! I would try and build up some torque as opposed to hp for auto x. Such as maybe some shortie headers. Basic bolt ons will give you alot better power out of the apex. Especially once u get ur suspension all set up.

Hope i added some ideas on top of what Boosted allready offered you.

I just did a Bilstein/ Eibach kit with new BMR upper and lower a arms, and new sway bar links and bushings. Car handles incredible.

I put a set of KYB Gas-A-Just shocks and 4 BGF gForce Super Sport tires on my car, and the results were fantastic.

Later on I plan on a strut tower brace and some sub frame connectors, which will also make a big difference.

Replace the stock (rear lower control arms) with tubular ones hould improve traction.
However. The way you drive is also important (the use of your rright foot on the gas) can be a problem with traction.
