Electric hatch

Where is the switch supposed to be at I looked all over the drivers side of the car I took the panel off in the back and it has the motor and all ther I just can't find the switch. I also pulled the spare tire jack and tools out to find find that I'm leaking water through one of the tail light bolt holes you can see the trail of water and it put about a 2in rust hole in the bottom of the wheel well so now I need to have fix that. what is this gas tank hatch I'm hearing about for future fuel pump replacements ?

Are you talking bout this switch

RonnieJ86 Nov 30, 2012 08:04 PM

and for the fuel pump hatch thats something people make and cut a hole in the flooring and make it a hatch

Sorry should have been more clear I'm meant is the a button or latch like the hood latch the ill try and get some pics up of the motor and the wiring and the hole

RonnieJ86 Nov 30, 2012 08:13 PM

ooo that switch is usually on the center console where the window switches are and the shifter.

when you had the cover off and saw the hatch motor did you also see something like this toward the top?

John4649 Nov 30, 2012 08:25 PM

Nope all I saw was the motor attached to the bottom of the latch and a wire coming down that plugged into a wiring harness

RonnieJ86 Nov 30, 2012 08:27 PM

ok then you wouldn't have a switch release for the hatch. if you want it to have a switch you can buy that part and the relay from top down solutions.

So how did my hatch motor work then

RonnieJ86 Nov 30, 2012 08:43 PM

that motor is to just raise and lower the hatch latch, so when you go to close it you dont have to slam it you just click it down and the motor would then suck it down.
