hi im new here and have a copple questions, im looking to get a z28 with a 350 or 305 and a 5 spd. i also want/need fuel injection. so i guess my question is what years do i look for for a z28/350FI or 305FI/5spd? if i cant find a FI one is it easy to covert it from carb to FI?

 

sorry for a dobble post but, is it esy to swap a v6 to v8? are the mount the same? is the wiring the same? are the v6 and v8 trans the same, or do i need the v8 trans? sorry for so many questions.

 

IROC & Z28 with305 TPI (LB9) and five speeds were available from 1985/1992. The quantity made was however low compared to the automatics. So you may have a problem locating one. 305 Carb/TBI five speed cars are a dime a dozen if want to go that route.

Swapping a V8 into V6 car can be done, but it will cost you big bucks.

 

As far as what years to look for, the later the model, the better. Up to '92 for Z28, and no later than '90 if you've gotta have an IROC-Z.

If you need a manual the 88+ had a stronger T5.
