Default Wheel Paint

This is a dumb question, but does anyone know if the paint will come off of the 82-87 Camaro wheels like these:

I have them on my S10 in silver (not painted I assume), but I need a replacement and all I can find is gold. Will the paint come off with paint thinner or something, or is it powder coated?

I'm not, they'll look stupid with one gold wheel, three silver. So.. I have to figure out if it's even possible to get the paint off before I go buy it.

yep itll come off but its a real pain, i bought mine off a red rs. after 4 cans of industrial strength paint stripper(the stuff in the spray can, has a airplane on it), a wire wheel and scrapper and several hours of pain from the mix of the wire wheel and paint stripper, it all came off to the solid alumium, then i just clearcoated them all and they look great.

Thanks for the help, guys.

They look great on an S10, they're just hard to find around here. Thankfully I only have to do one, so this shouldn't be more than a few hours worth of work. I'd rather do it than pay $80 for one on ebay.

Thanks for the pictures, 350rs.

The wheels are painted silver. Its not bare. The outer edge is bare with a clear coat on it.
