Default wet underside

can water spraying up on the underside of my car affect how the clutch works? My clutch had an odd feel to it after going through a puddle

if you managed to hit a big enough puddle to get it through the check plate on the tranny then yes. but that doesn't happen often.

And the water's effect is only momentary, it'll dry off pretty much right away from the engine heat and friction. Unless you're keeping it wet by driving through a river.

might check your clutch slave cylinder ( i think thats the one on the tranny?) and all lines if its still a problem. Even check the bolts from the bellhousing the to block. mine were about a handfull of turns from falling out. ALL of them. So my clutch wasnt working properly

Make sure you have a check plate. I've came across a few cars that were missing them because some shade tree mechanic didnt put it back.

your question has been pretty much answered, so i have a bit of a past experience. i drove a vehicle through a creek to clean off mud and parked it about 6 miles after crossing the creek. the next morning the clutch was rusted to the flywheel and wouldnt release.
