Default TRANS SWAP

I RUN V/SA NHRA, AND AM THINKING OF DROPPING THE A, THEREFORE RUNNING 4 OR 5 SPEED STICK. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TRANS WILL FIT IN THE CAR WITH THE 2.8 V6 ENGINE. I HAVE TO RUN SFI SPEC FLYWHEEL AND CLUTCH, AND HAVE FOUND A SUPPLY OF THESE PARTS. I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING ABOUT CLUTCH LINKAGE, IE WERE THESE CARS CABLE OR HYDRALIC OPERATED. TRANS MUST HAVE SPOT FOR TORQUE ARM , AS I AM NOT ALLOWED BY THE RULES TO CHANGE REAR SUSPENSION. ANYBODY EVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS??

Well the clutch is hydralic and I dont know about the trans. I think the 82's were mechanical. I know in the S10's it was an Isuzu trans for the 60 degree v6.

Well my I'm not totally sure but I think MadMike is right because the v6 is a 60degree so I dont really know but I like how you are running a 2.8 v6 on the track. That is really sweet.

have been running it with the auto trans, but can't get rpm up enough except in the burnout box. she goes right to 8 grand there, but can kills bottem end so bad, it just sturggles to wind up with 8 in convertor. since 7 in would cost more than converting it, i think i am going the stick route, besides sounds like fun thanks don
