Default Stupid Engine codes.

Engine lightcomes on when cruising down the highway after about 30 minutes or so. Still runs perfectly no issues at all. shut her down goes away and then same thing it comes on 30 minutes of cruising later. its probably some stupid EVAP system screwup. i have the factory service book and after following instructions to jump the wires on the ALCL connector to check codes my goddamn rad fan motor kicks in. another kicks in the fuel pump and others do nothing. anyone else successfully checked codes this way? it aint working for me...

Good luck. Your computer is too old to store codes. Usuall suspects with what you have are going to be either O2 sensor. Map sensor or EGR Circuit. Your car is too old to test EVAP system for failures.

The computer is NOT too old to store codes. Jumper the A+b wires. There is a sticky in this section on how to.
