The first thing is make sure it is a 5.7 350 TPI. You can do this by checking the eigth didit of the VIN and it should be the number EIGHT (8) for 5.7. Anything else and this will make the seller and the car suspect. After you verify it is a 5.7 TPI you can handle it like anyother used car as long as you also remenber it is a 22yr old car.

You can compare it to my 87 IROC

If it's a 5.7 TPI expect around 230 bhp and 330 lb-ft of torque and like blackz87 said, the average issues that come with a 22 year old car

The VIN doesn't lie, if it's near you talk to the guy/girl and figure out everything you can. Might be a surprise or two lol are you in high school?

You passed the first major question the engine is correct.

The car might have had collision damage or was repainted & decal left off. Ask the damage question first and nothing wrong about repainting. The early Van Nuys cars had a lot of defective & bad quality paint problems.
