Smog pump question

1. I have to pass emissions in AZ.
2. I have all emission equipment hooked up and operational except an EGR.

3. I passed emissions for 2011 with my new motor.
4. AZ does not do a visual test for anything other than the cat.

The problem is that the steel line connecting the smog pump supply to both headers that runs behind the distributor is causing my oil pressure sending unit to leak because that line is putting tension on the sending unit. I would like to remove that line and only run the smog pump supply to the passenger side. I am wondering if this may cause any problems when it comes time for 2012 emissions. Tell me what you think.

You shouldn't have a problem testing at all. The smog pump has two operations. When the engine is cold, air is injected into the exhaust manifolds (upstream) which helps to raise the exhaust temperature, and gets the cat converter up to operating temperature faster.
Once the engine heats up, the air is diverted downstream to inject directly into the cat to make it more efficient.
Since you always want to have your car tested with the engine up to running temperature, only the downstream injection is a factor, not the upstream which is diverted by then.
