same problem starts stalls out

i replaced all the vacuum lines and replaced my throttle bottle gasket, also drained the old fuel and put fresh in. starts right up sounds stronger than ever and dies right out unless i play with the throttle. so it could be that im suckin in air from the intake manifold unless you guys. can think of something different. o and i already replaced the fuel pump and filter and the injectors are sprayin fine. thank you for your time and suggestions

my car has the same problem and im on the verge of buying a new iac valve. what mine does is itll idle fine in park and then as soon as i put it in gear (reversE) it slowly dies. also sometimes coming up to a stoplight itll stall out. if yours is a TBI v8 its probably the IAC valve or carbon build up on it. take it out and spray carb cleaner on it and put it back in and start the car up and run for like 10 minutes for it the pintle length to reset.

Get a vacuum gauge hooked up to the vacuum booster and let us know EXACTLY what it's doing. You should get a steady 17-22hg reading. If you have a leaky intake, it'll be about 6-9 hg low,a clogged exhaust will go positve and be putting pressure out, burned valves will give you a jumping needle every time the valve opens... Vac gauges are probably one of the oldest, and yet most useful diagnostic tools you can get for your engine. If it's doing something other than what I outlined there, lemme know, I can tell you what it means, but I don't want to get into all that detail, as there are ALOT of things it can indicate.
