I just picked up an 86 IROC and when I turn the AC on max the radiator fan will not turn on until I tap the relay on the right side of the radiator, it is mounted to the radiator support and held in place with 2 puch in plastic holders, it has 4 wires going into it???? I know the fan relay is on the left side above the brake booster, the temp sensor is on the thermostat housinga nd the fan switch is mounted in the block right side low. So what is the relay (I think) on the right side fron of engine compartment?

Look at what color wires are connected to that relay and report back. Pretty sure that would be the A/C override fan relay, but tracing the colors to a schematic will help determine that for sure.

Winner winner chicken dinner, it is the AC relay, after reading your post I looked up the ac relay on autozone and bingo. The best part is it's only 15 bucks.
