Default Riddle me this...

If you sit in the passenger seat of the car and face foreward, there will be two silver boxes hidden behind the dashboard in front of you. From what I understand, the one on the left is your VATS module, and the one on the right is your ECM.

I removed my VATS module today. I disconnected it and sat it down in the kitchen. Walked back to the garage, turned the key to the ON position. Security light came on, popped off, like normal. I started my car.

I STARTED MY CAR. WITHOUT THE VATS MODULE.

Need proof that I removed the VATS module? The Violet wire with a white stripe is wired to a bypass resistor. I used a fluke tester and found that the violet wire coming out of the VATS connector and the one connected to my resistor is the same one.

I won't be able to sleep tonight.

They are the same wire or have the same impotance (resistance). Touch other wires and see if they are also the same wires.

They are the same wire. I tested the ends for continuity.

The module, other than a sticker with a service number and two barcodes, is absolutely blank. Just a big silver box which bolts onto the dashboard underneath the dashpad.

Its a giant yellow plug with a dozen or so wires coming out of it.

And I noticed a few days ago that my airbag is now always disabled, as in INFL REST doesn't go out.

Otherwise I've been driving around without the box for the past week.

You unplugged the air bag puter. Anything with yellow plugs and/or wire loom/tape is air bag.
