Reverse ticking noise/ electrical noise

305 TBI 1990 RS Camaro Automatic Transmission
So I started up my camaro today and it started up fine just as any other day, drove it around for a bit and then parked it at a gas station to go in and grab something to drink.
When i came out, i turned the key, heard the fan going, which is good, then went to start it and it died instantly and just clicked for a moment...
Had an auto parts store hook up a battery to it, started just fine.

However.. wehn i got to work, i put it in reverse and it's making some sort of clicking noise, sort of electrical maybe... and i only hear it when i'm in reverse... i tried all of the other gears, no noise like this.

The battery gauge says it is charging, i'm thinking it's a bit of an overload to start it with the fan going and the radio going. I usually start it with the radio off, this time i started it with it on. I just installed a new alternator 4 months ago.

It's a new battery with 550 cca(coldcrankingamps)
and it has roughly 1,300 miles on it.

Any ideas?

Problem was the disconnection of a ground wire located near my battery from the negative cable. zzzzz

Easy fix. Next time, or when you cruising about the garage, you might want to coat the lug and fender with antiseize for corrosion prevention.

Yeah, i cleaned up the connections with a file to make sure it was nice metal on metal. thanks for the advice!

Ok car is still starting ok, however.. it happened again today.. When i put it in revers to park a strange ticking noise happened.
I put it in drive, no noise, put it in neutral, no noise, put it back in reverse, the noise happens. Put it in reverse again, then drive, then reverse again and the ticking noise was gone.... Any ideas? Maybe it's the Ujoint???
