Default Rear-end idea ,. need professional answers

so heres all the info first:
i got a 91rs 305tbi 5 speed
the rpo said it has a rear end of like 3.02 or something close to that

i also have a 93 s10 2.8lv6tbi 5 speed
rpo says this has a 3.73 in it

both are the same t-5 tranny and have one wheel peel (limited slip)
now i know you can swap camaro engines and trannys into an s10
but ive heard a few people talk about taking s10 rear ends and throwing them in camaros.
supposedly 4cyl. s10s have a 4.10 rear end to make as much torque as possible with the little engine so it can still tow.
and ive heard people talk about getting a junk yard s10 just for the rear end

i knowVERY little about rear-ends / gearing but...
in theory (if they fit) could i take my s10s 3.73 and throw it in the camaro for better torque/low end accel.
and put the camaros 3.02 in the truck and get no towing power but better gas mileage on the freeway.

understand the truck is a piece not mechanically but body and interior wise its junk it runs great but the bed is almost all rusted away so im not towing shxt in this thing. it barley holds the sand bags in the winter. all i do is drive it to work so the camaro can hibernate in the garage for the winter. i might even take the rearend and junk the truck cept its already great on gas and has some power. but i would trade the power for gas if posible.

and im not taking the camaro on any road trips so i dont care if its running 3k rpm on the freeway.
this is the toy. gas mileage and emmisions are not on the list of priorities

i have the garage space to do this swap and can drive the womans car if i have to.(but its a focus yuk)

now the ??s:
are these rear ends interchangeble?
will i have to swap the whole rear axle assembly including brakes or can i just change gears?
will i need special tools?
if they do swap am i correct on the desired result?
how long should this take for me (dummy) and my 2"mechanic" friends?

this is just an idea but if i get positive respone then it very well could be a project for next fall/winter

thanks guys

i think tat the gears and carrier are the same but as for the housing they are different because the camaro has a torque arm and coil springs and an s10 has leaf springs so the will not interchange but im pretty sure the the gears would

i put a 3.42 posi rear end in my camaro and its great, prior to that it was 2.73 with out posi. HUGE difference. i just replaced the entire ****in rear end, it was real easy. i bought a used one off craigslist for 250. the only thing about your s10 i dont know if the rear axle is the same size as the one in your camaro, i dont know how that would work. your best bet is to take one outve an 82-92 firebird/camaro or send it out to have the rear redone. also theres a little nylon gear in teh tranny that you have to change, they're all different colors, you need to know your tire size and gear ratio, if you dont do that your speedometer will be way off and your odometer will rack up miles faster
