Random idea of the week : LENCO
I love camaros and well i want one that has something that really makes it stand out. So i was thinking and it hit me i have never seen or herd of a third gen. with a lenco transmission in it.Has it been done before? is it even possible? and my last question if i ever saved up the money would anyone help?
Actually I looked into it over the weekend. I don't think it would be that hard. Driveline wise, it looks like components are easily available. I asked a friend who has been using lenco for 15 years. He said there would be some cutting of the tunnel for the shift linkages, but thats about all.
It will bolt up to your engine, but do you really need it, and do you want a bunch of shift levers comingthrough the floor? These things are designed to handle over 1000 HP and have a price commensurate to power capacity. And you still need a clutch to get the car moving from a stop.
sounds like hell of fun to me actually. i mean why own a muscle car that fits in? looks like i have something to save for a LENCO and enough goodies to get an engine to handle one. so the real question is how many shift levers i want coming through the floor.
