Radiator fan
So i was driving home and i started to smell boiling coolant and the car started to overheat, pulled over and waited till it cooled down, poured fresh coolant in then went home. When i popped the hood at home i found out it was the fan that just stopped working, then found out the wiring that runs from the fan to the harness disinagrated. Can anyone guide me how to fix this? Can i do it myself or should i take it to a specialist and how much can this run up too?

RE: Radiator fan
The wire burned out probably because the fan bearings went bad and the motor had to draw too much current to keep running. I, or the connector was not making good contact. f the connector is still good, you can cut off the bad wire and splice in a new one. If the connector is bad, you may be able to find one at a parts store, such as Pep Boys. Otherwise you can alway take a trip toa junk yard and clip a connector out leaving some long leads to splice your wire to. Don't forgrt, if the fan is bad, the wire will burn out again.
