Default questions w/ tbi

hey guys some people told me that the stock tbi throttle body and tbi intake are big reasons that is keeping my LO3 from making good power. i didnt want to spend the money to switch over to carb. i was just wondering if i got a new edelbrock performer tbi intake and a new tbi throttle body, would that help out the flow a little more giving me some extra hp. i dont need a lot of horsepower but just something better than stock. if it would help me out how much hp would i gain with these mods. thanks a lot guys.

actually the problem isn't in the throttle body or intake. it is in the heads. TBI engines have swirl port heads with 165cc intake runners and 1.84 valves. the truth of the matter is they just don't flow worth a crap. infact the only good use for tbi heads are as a boat anchor. 305HO heads flow pretty well if they are pocket ported, gasket match ported, and fitted with 1.94 valves. in my opinion your wasting your money upgrading the intake and throttle body. any gains would be minimal. Sick

Get that and a dual plane intake, and you'll just need a bigger TBI unit, which can be found here:

and injectors:

Sorry I couldn't find the plate anywhere else, but there's so much crap to sift through on the internet when looking for something like this.

You have to look out for how these will fit under the hood.
On my carbed 84 I had an Edelbrock intake which sat 1/4in higher and the stock air cleaner rubbed the hood insulation.

You most likely have a drop base air cleaner if it is under your hood now. If you take the top off and look at the base on top the TBI it would have a dome shape instead of being flat.
