Posi means both wheels spin when you break them loose, very good.

Jack up the rear and turn one wheel. If the other turns in the same direction you have a posi.

No. crawl under the car and find the axle code on the front of the axle casing, and I can tell you. The posi was not something that's determined by year, it was an option on pretty much every year as far as I know. I know 92 offered it, but that doesn't mean yours has it.

Or if it has not been removed it will have a metal tag on one of the bolts on the diff cover.

Yeah, I didn't mention that one as I've never seen a Camaro that old that still had the tag in place, but it is a good point, if it's there.

Then you have limited slip which means one wheel drive. What is supposed to happen is if the right wheel starts to slip, the left wheel kicks in, but mine doesnt really kick in. Thats why im switching out my rear for a 323 posi.

I would like to correct your miss-information in the above Post. For one a Limited Slip is (aka positraction) they are one and the same. RPO G80 is a limited Slip option on Camaro/Firebirds and if it does not have this option it is what is called a OPEN Rear. So stand corrected.[sm=badbadbad.gif]
