I would not say Garbage. I did say in their "stock form" they can be built and many say they will hold up better the a 4 bolt 350 althought not as cheap. With most of the smog year motors the heads and compression are the issue just like your 305. If you want affortable power you should look to 97 up Small blocks. Try some research you may be able to put a set of vortec heads on your 305 and breath some life into it. Don't expect too much. The bottom ends of your 305 will only hold so much. You would need a cam, intake carb and headers to support the better heads. I think I read a write up somewhere about a 305 budget built.

Here you go, The vortect heads did better then the aftermarket heads on the Dyno. You may be able to find a set of these heads in a u-pull it yard. My local yard charges $15 per head.

well im putting anymore into the 305 for the camaro but other wise im prolly juss gunna set this motor aside for the future and build up a lt1 or sumthing along the lines but thank u for the offer on that...
