Default Overheating Problems

Just a week or two ago I noticed my engine temp was quite a bit above normal and it was continuing to climb. So I shut off the car and let it cool down. Later that day I drove it again and the same thing happened so I went to buy a thermostat. Replaced the thermostat and still was overheating. I then thought maybe the waterpump wasn't working properly or the blades were sheered or something so I replaced them. Still was overheating.

Now I'm stuck. The car is still overheating and I can't find anything wrong with it. The radiator is two years old only so I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I think I'm going to just remove the thermostat and see how it runs. Is that a good idea? I don't need heat because I don't drive it in cold weather. Any other ideas?

Are the fans on when the engine gets overheated?
