Not starting
I have a 1985 z28 with a 70's model 350. It has a quadrajunk carb on it that needs replaced but for some reason I cant get the car to start. The motor is sluggish when its trying to turn over almost barely turning it. Im thinking its the starter but I dont know for sure gona have it rebuilt to find out. Anyone else had this problem or have any ideas? I need to get this car going.
could be the battery, the alternator, the starter, or bad connections/wire. take the battery cables/wires off look em over for damage and wire brush the heck out of the battery terminals and the connectors on the ends of the battery cables. then if u have a battery charger or access to one hook it up for a while. how long is depending on the charger, a 10 amp charger will take a few hours to charge a battery thats run down. if charging the battery makes it come alive and turn over normal then its most likely the alternator or dirty conectons at the battery. u can take the starter out and have it tested at your local auto zone. many other parts stores will test starters and alternators so it may be just as easy (if u cant find a charger) to take the starter and alternator off and to a place to test them. my money is on the starter failing. lol. also check the ground wire to the block and make sure the bolts to the starter are not lose. both can effect the connection of power to the starter.

It has a brand new battery, new terminals,I'v cleaned all the connections with a wire brush, and Checked the grounds. Im pretty much leaning toward the starter. I have the car on jacks right now but I won't have it off tell tomorrow. I'll post an update then.
