Default Newbie....Couple ?s on 84 305

Just got a 1984 Camaro 305 5.0 H.O., got it free, needs work!!!

The car has sat for almost 3 years, something ate the Spark Plug Wires, so I replaced them and the Spark Plugs!

Didn't have harly any gas in it, put in C-Foam gas system cleaner and a quarter tank of gas!

The car turns over really strong like it wants to kick but it won't, what could be the problem?
I know there are many possibilities, but name them off and me and my buddies will get em' done.

Also...
The Choke Light comes on and stays on when I am cranking her ? ? ?

Appreciate all the help, pictures will be on soon. Even though there is not much to look at!

your fuel filter, fuel pump are the first to test.
if it's carbed, that may need work

I think my timing might be off...how do i correct that? I started her about a year ago and drove her around a bit...its making me mad now that she son't want to start!

Where can I get some pics of the engine bay, and stock engine set up? That way I can see where hoses are that might have been destroyed on mine and other objects...etc.!

Thanks,
Jon

if it has sat for three years the carb is screwed. carbs do not work well after sitting up for that amount of time. need to get a rebuild kit for it. if it had fuel in it when you parked it, the fuel has jelled by now and has plugged every hole, nook, and cranny of the carb. you probably need to pull the tank as well because it is most likely glazed with rust. sick
